As a neuromuscular specialist and electrophysiologist, I have experience with the diagnostic and treatment aspects of a variety of nerve disorders. I have also completed a designated clinical research fellowship in inherited neuropathy, during which I learned about outcome measures and clinical trial design strategies specific to diseases of nerve. My research to date has focused on optimizing outcome measures for slowly progressive neuropathies with the goal of carrying out effective treatment trials. I have conducted a natural history study of inherited neuropathy in the largest patient cohort reported to date and have presented longitudinal data from this patient population at the Peripheral Nerve Society. I have also developed specific expertise in Hereditary Sensory Autonomic Neuropathy Type I (HSAN1) and have carried out a biomarker study and a randomized controlled trial in HSAN1 in collaboration with Dr. Florian Eichler at Massachusetts General Hospital.
