Biography
Dr. Kwiatkowski received his M.D. and Ph.D. from Baylor College of Medicine (Medical Scientist Training Program Scholar; Thesis: “Positional Cloning for Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type I (SCA1)”, Dept. of Molecular Genetics). After a Transitional Year Internship at Baylor College of Medicine affiliated hospitals, he completed residency at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine Neurology and a year of advanced clinical fellowship at Mayo Clinic Scottsdale (focus: Neurodegenerative Disorders).
Dr. Kwiatkowski served as Instructor in Neurology/Assistant in Clinical Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital 2000-2009 (Angel Fund ALS Research Fellowship and NIH R01 grant awardee). He has done various neurosciences and genetics consulting and Neurology locum tenens work, and is currently a staff Neurologist at Berkshire Medical Center Department of Neurology (2010-present).
Dr. Kwiatkowski is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. His areas of special interest include ALS, neuropathy, neurodegenerative and neurogenetic disorders, and autoimmune disorders.
