Biography
Max Klein is an Instructor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School and Assistant in Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He has a BS in Chemical Engineering from MIT and PhD in Materials Engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology. He worked in the aerospace industry and spent 15 years as a technical consultant to the government and military at Booz Allen Hamilton. There he worked on instrumentation and defensive measures related to chemical and biological defense. He then brought his focus on combat health issues to the Massachusetts General Hospital. There, he works as part of the Neurology Department’s Nerve Unit to improve diagnosis and works on improving treatments for neuropathy. Research interests include neuropathy in children, fibromyalgia patients, and Gulf War veterans. He is also studying non-invasive brain stimulation, an emerging treatment for chronic pain.
