John England, MD, FAAN

Dr. England is the Richard M. Paddison Professor of Neurology and Chair of the Department of Neurology at the LSUHSC School of Medicine in New Orleans. He is a past-President of the American Academy of Clinical Neurophysiology and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM). He also served as the Chairman of the Polyneuropathy Task Force of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPMR). He was the Chair of the Guidelines Development Subcommittee of the American Academy of Neurology from 2009-2013. Dr. England was the Editor for the Neuromuscular Disorders section of Current Treatment Options in Neurology from 2003-2010. He is the current Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Neurological Sciences and serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for World Neurology. He is an internationally well-known expert in peripheral neuropathy and is a frequent invited lecturer both nationally and internationally. His major research interest is the pathophysiology of disorders of peripheral nerves. Dr. England has authored or co-authored over 230 articles, reviews, chapters and abstracts.
