Matt Danzi is Assistant Scientist in Stephan Zuchner’s lab within the Hussman Institute for Human Genomics at the University of Miami. He received his PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Miami in 2017 where his thesis work focused on epigenetics and gene expression regulation in the context of spinal cord injury. He has enjoyed dual training in both computational and wetlab work. In the Zuchner Lab, Matt leads the continued development of GENESIS by incorporating new tools into the platform that create new ways of analyzing patient data (such as the recent additions of structural variant and repeat expansion analyses) as well as by developing novel methods to aid in data analysis, such as their new deep learning system to prioritize variants.
